Welcome to Uphall Primary School
We have designed this website to give you a taster of the fantastic work which is happening across our school.
In Uphall Primary School we encourage and support all children from nursery to primary seven to always do their best. We also expect everyone in the school to be caring and supportive to each other.
All the staff at our school work to provide an excellent education at all times.
We try to provide the pupils with experiences which will prove to be relevant to the 21st century and equip them with the skills to enable them to take up their role as responsible members of society.
We hope you will find our website interesting and useful in keeping you informed about the work of the school and in providing you with regularly updated news and information. I will regularly update the Head Teacher blog and the Well Done page to reflect the everyday life of the school
Thank you for visiting!
We had a wonderful celebration assembly in school yesterday. It was great to see so many parents and friends of the school. Our P7′s shared some wonderful memories, sang a wonderful song and thoroughly enjoyed their leavers’ tea which the parent council had provided.
Here are some of the photographs taken on the day, we’d be delighted to add any photographs you took too. Please e-mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll add them to the slideshow.
We hope you all enjoyed sports’ day. Here are some of the photographs we took on the day. I’m sure the sun is out in some of them!
This week the ECO committee have been working hard to organise a few events to raise awareness of Earth Hour. They ran a stall selling bookmarks and bracelets and held 2 competitions. Today everyone was asked to come to school in bright, sparkly clothes and donate some money. In total, we raised £127.34 for the WWF! The stall will also be running on Monday of next week as well.
Thank you to everyone who donated and took part in our fundraising activities.

‘Smarties Fundraising Challenge’ starts today, every child in school will have been given a tube of smarties and a flyer telling them what to do.
We have been amazed at the response to the art festival in school. The amount of entries and quality of entries has been amazing.
In fact it’s been so amazing we’re struggling to keep up with getting them mounted and displaying them! Thanks to the brilliant work of Mrs Borthwick, Mrs Howie, Mrs Stewart and Mrs McGowan, nearly all of the entries are up now. There is also a comments book to write down your ideas in the entrance hall too.
Thank you so much Uphall. We didn’t know if people would like an art festival or not…we know now!
Have a look at Ellie’s photos and Baillie and Cameron’s video, which are digital entries and then have a look at some photos of your work in the entrance hall.
We’d love your comments on the art you’ve seen.
Here are P3/4 and our instrumentalists from P4,5,6,and 7. Merry Christmas!
We had our Christmas lunch at school today. As usual, it was really tasty and a wonderful time was had by everyone. Have a look at our pictures and listen to children’s comments.
If you’d like to tell us what you thought, add you ideas in the comments below.
We’ve had a great day in school dressing up as characters from movies or film stars. Some of our P7 children ran a stall selling cakes, badges, fudge and biscuits and also running some competitions. We also had some P4 children who organised some baking at home and sold some of their treats from Trick or Treating.
Altogether they raised the brilliant sum of £900. A huge thank you to the P7′s who you can see in the pictures presenting prizes in assembly and a massive thanks to all the children, staff and parents who gave their time and money to raise this wonderful amount. Enjoy a look at our Children in Need efforts.
We have already started raising money for Children in Need.
Some of our P7 children have been making cakes, fudge, shortbread and badges to sell to raise money for Pudsey. This has been massively successful raising over £200 already.
Pupil Council have decided to have a come to school as a Film Star day on Children in Need day itself, and as well as selling cakes and badges we are selling official Pudsey merchandise all week too. Please come and support our efforts.
